Sri Lankan Mining Delegation Visits GSAI Geophysics, Opening a New Chapter in China-Sri Lanka Cooperation in Geophysical Exploration and Scientific Research
On July 31, 2026, a Sri Lankan mining delegation led by Mr. Moiz Najmudeen, Chairman of the prominent Sri Lankan business group Debug Investment (Pvt) Ltd, and Mr. Jayatha, Chief Executive Officer of Boralugoda Graphite Company, visited Giant Sequoia AI Technology (Changsha) Co., Ltd. (GSAI Geophysics) for a business visit and technical exchange.
The visit was jointly hosted by Associate Professor Rujun Chen, GSAI's Chief Technical Advisor, and Siwen Chen, Chief Engineer. The delegation toured the company's headquarters, R&D center, instrument manufacturing base, and rock physics laboratory, gaining a comprehensive understanding of GSAI's latest achievements in geophysical exploration equipment R&D, innovation in mineral exploration technologies, and international cooperation.

A Closer Look at In-House R&D Capabilities and Recognition of Chinese Innovation
During the visit, the delegation learned in detail about GSAI's development history, research team, core technologies, and international business footprint. GSAI also highlighted its independently developed technologies in electromagnetic geophysical exploration.
The delegation toured the complete process of instrument R&D, manufacturing, and testing, gaining a comprehensive view of GSAI's end-to-end industrial chain - from hardware design, software development, and system assembly to performance testing, quality evaluation, packaging, and delivery.


GSAI also presented a range of patents, software copyrights, science and technology awards, honors and professional qualifications obtained in recent years, together with successful application cases from multiple mineral exploration projects in China and overseas.
Following the visit, the Sri Lankan delegation spoke highly of GSAI's strong research capabilities, well-established R&D system, and product quality-control capabilities. The delegation noted that there remains strong market demand in Sri Lanka for modern geophysical exploration technologies and expressed the hope of introducing advanced Chinese technologies in the future to strengthen Sri Lanka's mineral-resource exploration capabilities.
Field Visit to Ejin Banner: Experiencing Advanced Exploration Technologies Firsthand
On August 2, the two parties traveled together to Ejin Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, for an on-site visit to a gold-mine geophysical exploration project being undertaken by GSAI.



At the field site, Associate Professor Rujun Chen gave a systematic introduction to GSAI's independently developed geophysical exploration equipment, covering:
· Overall instrument architecture and operating principles;
· Functions and features of each component module;
· Standardized field deployment procedures;
· Data acquisition specifications and quality-control methods;
· Key precautions for field operations;
· Real-time data monitoring and quality-evaluation procedures.
Equipment operation demonstrations and data quality-control demonstrations were also conducted on site, enabling the Sri Lankan representatives to gain an in-depth understanding of the stability, reliability, and operational efficiency of GSAI's advanced equipment under complex field conditions.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on the application of electromagnetic exploration technologies to gold, graphite, and other mineral resources, and exchanged views on future directions for cooperation.


Starting with Graphite Exploration to Advance China-Sri Lanka Cooperation in Mining Technology
During the subsequent business discussions, both sides agreed that China and Sri Lanka have broad scope for cooperation in mineral-resource exploration and technological innovation.
The two sides reached a preliminary consensus to make cooperation on graphite exploration in Sri Lanka an important starting point, leveraging GSAI's strengths in geophysical exploration technologies and equipment and gradually expanding cooperation to:
· Graphite resource exploration and evaluation;
· Exploration for gold, copper, and other mineral resources;
· Introduction and application of advanced geophysical technologies;
· Scientific research cooperation and joint R&D;
· Professional technical training and talent development;
· Joint research projects between Chinese and Sri Lankan universities and research institutions;
· Development of geophysical laboratories and long-term technical support.
Looking ahead, both parties hope to establish a long-term, stable, and mutually beneficial cooperation mechanism, jointly promoting the application of independently developed Chinese geophysical technologies in Sri Lanka and the wider South Asian region, and providing more advanced and efficient technical solutions for local mineral-resource exploration.
